This is how the Soldiers of Rock & Roll audio documentary LP almost lokked like. The band was not happy at all and had it pulled. 40 copies snuck out and this is Gregs.

This is the poster designed by Warwick Gilbert for the famous Paddington Town Hall gig, the only time they played with the Saints (who could suffer that twice). Those were the days when you could have a great night out for $2.50 and could bring your own piss!!

Bottom pic is US Sire release (SRK 6050) with really thin paper insert. I suppose the deletion cut says it all.

Ah on tour in England, all the chums in a cosy Combi - Happy days. Lucky no fucker had a gun!!

Top pic is the "Anglo Strike" poster and bottom pic is Ram mag full page ad. for the Flamin' Groovies tour with the lads as support. All was well until Cyril Jordan couldn't hold his piss - so to speak - and cut his hand on a broken bottle. Flamin' pisshead.

Deniz, Ron & Pip After Birdman

Deniz, Ron & Pip after Birdman went on to form The Visitors with Mark Sisto on vocals and Steve Harris on bass. Top poster is a pretty early one designed by Warwick Gilbert and purchased from Mark Kingsmill.

Bottom poster "The Death of the Visitors" could comfortably described as a fairly late one. The band Comrades of War was basically Birdman with Kannis on vocals, well that's what I was told.

Bottom Poster is an early Hitmen Diddn't Tell The Man Promo with Warwick Gilbert on 6 string and Phill Sommerville (bass) missing from pic. Ivor Hay (Saints) on drums.

Original Radios Appear Variations

Pictured together is on the left an original independent release on Trafalger (1000 copies) without a distribution deal and it's insert of the band playing. On the right is the next pressing with a distribution deal with WEA - note additional line between Play Loud and the Trafalger Logo on back cover. Insert for this one is a different band photo with printed signatures and line at bottom about further copies from you local record store or direct from the fan club.

Third copy pictured is a further 1977 pressing with third type of insert a collage on matte paper which later reappeared as part of the Overseas version insert. Correct me please if I am wrong.

Very early poster from the Newts bar and restaurant gig, you can read about that in the book by Vivien Johnson. Ex Chris Masuak, it's definetly not a Warwick Gilbert design but what it lacks in style it must make up in rarity.

This is what the Hitmen best of LP 78-82 nearly looked like. They were all printed but when band members saw the piss poor Survival records effort they spat and ordered them all pulped. Only 10 copies were saved which were sold by Mr Normington for $30 bucks each. Business is business!!

Pictured here is an original A4 handbill from 1977 for a Melbourne gig at the Tiger Room with "The first 50 people wearing shades admitted half price". For the student it has the New Race cassette single cat. code (TSC1001) which I have never seen.

Also in the pic is cassette releases of the overseas version of Radios Appear (M5T 102) and Living Eyes (M5 600085) as well as an original patch and badge.

This is an original promo poster for the Australian release of the Overseas version of Radios Appear. I bought it in the early 1990's from Phantom Records in Sydney when Chris Masuak sold off some of his posters. Only one I have ever come across. Must frame it one day.
